Life insurance may be for 5 years but in this case highlighted on Rip Off Britain the policyholder was only covered for death for 4 years
BBC Consumer program Rip Off Britain highlights a Royal London policyholder who could face being left homeless after a term and condition in her husbands protection insurance meant the claim was refused.
Small print should always be read and I suppose the industry, experts and advisers who sell these policies would know the catch in the small print, but are consumers at fault for expecting a five year policy to cover for five years?
Sadly, Royal London refused to back down meaning the family had to move out of their house as they couldn’t afford to pay the mortgage. Even an appearance on Rip Off Britain didn’t change Royal London’s stance.
